The Four-Point Advantage
Tetrax's unique advantage over traditional posturography systems, both “static”
or “dynamic”, has its basis in the four-point balance platforms used by the device.
These platforms measure the weight fluctuations between the two heels and two toe parts,
which serve as four points of support.
As the result of the measurement of four independent outputs,
new postural parameters, including synchronizations, diagonal weight shifts, and weight
distribution harmony, can be computed.

These new parameters are used to calculate the fall index.
In addition, the use of four platforms provides added sensitivity to subtle changes in postural
responses not detected by all other posturographic systems and not visible by routine clinical observation.
Pinpointing the Source of Instability
An accurate assessment of balance, carried out at the physician's office, can forestall health problems by revealing the sources of disability. The Tetrax system can pinpoint the source of instability by virtue of the various balance parameters provided only by Tetrax and by comparison of results from the different sections of the balance platforms. This is the first step in guiding the physician in choosing treatment and rehabilitation options for his patients.
